Terms of Service
Last updated 20 Sept 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Carebrij when you use our website or app. Please read them before booking care. If you do not agree with them, do not use the service.
Emergencies
Carebrij is not for emergencies. If someone is in danger or needs urgent care, call 112 or go to the nearest emergency department. Consultations here are scheduled, and a professional may not see your message straight away.
What Carebrij is
We run a marketplace that connects patients with licensed healthcare professionals and facilities, and provide the tools for booking, payment, messaging and video consultations.
We do not practise medicine. The professional you book is responsible for the care they give, for their clinical judgement, and for holding a valid licence. Any advice, diagnosis or prescription comes from them, not from us.
Who can use it
- You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account.
- A parent or legal guardian may book care for a child using their own account.
- Your information must be accurate, especially your name, date of birth and health details, because professionals rely on it.
- Professionals must hold a valid licence and pass our verification before they can offer services.
Your account
Keep your password private and do not let anyone else use your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has access. You are responsible for what happens under your account until you tell us.
Booking, prices and payment
- The price of a service is shown before you book, and is set by the professional.
- When you book, the price is quoted and held. Once the professional accepts, that price is locked in and is what you pay.
- You pay from your Carebrij wallet or by card through our payment processor. Your appointment is confirmed once payment succeeds.
- Wallet top-ups are credited after the payment processor confirms them, which can take a few minutes.
- A professional who cannot honour a booking may cancel it before payment; you are not charged for a cancelled request.
Changes, cancellations and refunds
- You can ask to move an appointment to another time, up to twice per appointment. The professional decides whether to accept.
- You or the professional may cancel an appointment before it is paid for.
- If a professional does not attend a paid consultation, contact support and we will arrange a refund or a new time.
- Refund requests are reviewed case by case, and are paid back to your wallet or original payment method.
Consultations and messages
- Messaging with a professional opens once your appointment is confirmed, so you can share context beforehand, and closes a period after the consultation ends.
- The video room opens when your appointment starts.
- You may attach photos and documents up to 10 MB for the professional to review. Only send files relevant to your care.
- Consultations are not recorded by us.
How you may not use Carebrij
- Do not impersonate someone else, or book care using another person's identity.
- Do not request prescriptions or services outside a genuine consultation, or seek controlled substances improperly.
- Do not send abusive, unlawful or harassing content, or content that infringes someone else's rights.
- Do not scrape, disrupt or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform.
- Do not share or publish another person's health information obtained through the service.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, or where we must do so by law.
Reviews
You can review a service after a completed consultation. Reviews must be your genuine experience. We may remove reviews that are false, abusive or reveal someone's private information.
Availability of the service
We work to keep Carebrij available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted. Features may change, and we may pause the service for maintenance or for reasons outside our control, such as network or power failures.
Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for providing the platform with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for the clinical care a professional provides, for their availability, or for decisions you make based on their advice.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by Nigerian law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, our liability to you for any claim connected to the service is limited to the amount you paid through Carebrij for the consultation the claim relates to.
Your privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it, including your health information. By using the service you agree to it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date above and tell you in the app if the change is significant. Continuing to use the service means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the Nigerian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. We would rather resolve problems directly: write to [email protected] first and we will try to sort it out.
